Manish Sharma is CEO of Accenture North America. Known for his expertise in and passion for reinvention, rigor and responsible business practices, he leads the largest of Accenture’s worldwide geographic markets, generating $29B in revenues in FY22. He is also a member of Accenture's Global Management Committee.
A 28-year veteran of Accenture, Manish most recently served as Accenture’s global chief operating officer before assuming his current position in September 2023, and was a driving force behind the company’s ongoing strategy to reinvent every function and every business area. Inspiring his team to think big with cloud, AI, data, analytics and other advanced technologies, Manish helped Accenture harness the promise of technology and human ingenuity and generate 360-degree value, while also making the company a showcase for the innovative services it provides its clients.
Prior to this role, as group chief executive of Accenture’s Operations practice, Manish led more than 140,000 global business process services experts and helped clients across the world transform their businesses and create opportunities for their people to do more rewarding work. He spearheaded the development of Accenture's Synops platform, which orchestrates the optimal combination of AI, data and insights with human expertise to create an intelligent operating model that dramatically improves efficiency and results. Prior to that, he held key leadership positions in Accenture Operations, including group COO and global business process outsourcing delivery lead.
Manish is a longtime advocate for inclusion and diversity programs and was instrumental in improving gender equality at Accenture. He also founded the Accenture Rural Program, which partners with small businesses in rural areas in India and the Philippines to give young people access to jobs, training, and mentoring. Empowering people to unlock their potential and feel valued has long been Manish’s mission. In the mid-90s, he and his wife established a child welfare and education trust to give children in India a better future. He serves as the trust’s director, and he spends most of his free time actively supporting it.
Manish earned both a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a master’s in management from the University of Mumbai.
