Accenture has the highest market share in the Market Share: Managed Security Services, Worldwide, 2022 and the third highest market share in the Market Share: Security Consulting Services, Worldwide, 2022, by revenue in Gartner research.
According to Accenture’s Fiscal Year 2022 results, Accenture’s security revenue was $6 billion. Accenture’s security revenue can be categorized into three areas:
- Managed Security Services (Gartner estimate of 2022 revenue is $1.6 billion)
- Security Consulting Services (Gartner estimate of 2022 revenue is $3.1 billion)
- Security implementation services, which is not included in Gartner’s definition of Managed Security Services or Security Consulting Services; using Gartner’s estimates for Managed Security Services and Security Consulting Services, Accenture calculates its 2022 Security implementation services revenue at approximately $1.3 billion
Managed Security Services
For the first year, Accenture has been ranked number 1 in managed security services market share by revenue in the Market Share: Managed Security Services, Worldwide, 2022 by Gartner. According to Gartner, the managed security services market grew 15.8% in current USD, reaching $16.98 billion in revenue. According to the report, Accenture's managed security services revenue grew 45.2% in 2022 while also increasing its market share to 9.3%.
Security Consulting Services
Accenture has been positioned with the third highest market share by revenue in the Market Share: Security Consulting Services, Worldwide, 2022 by Gartner. This represents an increase from last year’s report, in which Accenture was positioned with the fourth highest market share. According to Gartner, the security consulting services market grew by 12.4%, reaching $29.8 billion in 2022, from $26.5 billion in 2021. According to the report, Accenture's security consulting services 2022 revenue growth of 45% was the highest among the top 20 largest vendors, and its market share increase of 10.4% was the highest of all vendors included in the report.
Gartner’s definition of security consulting services includes both security and risk services covering three broad categories with related sub-services: 1) governance, advisory and assessment, 2) operations, and 3) incident and legal response. Gartner’s definition does not include implementation services, maintenance/support services, or IT outsourcing.
